Club, shop or dispensary?
Searching for a weed club near me, a CSC near me, a cannabis shop near me or a dispensary near me? In Spain those are different things, and knowing which is which saves you a wasted trip.
One kind of place, many names. You will see all of these for the same thing:
Cannabis social clubs (CSCs) are the closest thing Spain has to a dispensary. They are private, non-profit members’ associations where adults can use cannabis on the premises, and you need membership to get in. Spanish speakers search for an asociación cannábica cerca de mí, a club cannábico cerca de mí or a club social de cannabis, and it is the same thing. Our finder lists 51 of them, mostly in the Canary Islands and along the Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol, Barcelona and Valencia.
CBD stores, grow shops and glass shops are ordinary retail shops open to anyone. They sell CBD products, growing equipment and smoking accessories, not cannabis. Tick Include shops in the finder to see them, or read our Gran Canaria shop guide and Tenerife shop guide.
Buying on the street is the option to avoid. It is not legal, and buying or using cannabis in public can bring a fine. A club is the safe, legal route for visitors, and our Spain cannabis law guide explains exactly where the line sits.

In Spain a cannabis club is a private, non-profit members’ association, not a shop. That is why the closest club is not always one you can walk into today. Background in our cannabis law guide.
Questions
If you are in Spain or the Canary Islands, very likely. We list 51 private clubs, with the biggest groups in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, the Costa Blanca, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Tap Find clubs near me at the top of this page and we sort them by distance from where you are. We only cover Spain, so from another country the page points you to the areas for planning a trip.
They are all the same thing: a private, non-profit members’ club where adults can use cannabis on the premises. CSC stands for cannabis social club. In Spanish you will also see club social de cannabis, asociación cannábica and club cannábico. They are not shops, and you need to be a member to enter.
Not in the US or Canadian sense: Spain has no recreational dispensaries. The equivalent is a private cannabis social club, where members can use cannabis on the premises. Use the finder above to see which of our 51 listed clubs are closest to you, or open the full club map.
You cannot buy it on the street or in ordinary shops, and buying or using it in public can bring a fine. Adults get access through membership of a private club. CBD stores and grow shops are open to everyone but do not sell cannabis.
Yes, all four islands have clubs and they hold most of our listings. See the guides for Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, or tap the finder to sort by distance.
No. Every club we list is a private members’ association, so you cannot be served at the door without membership. Most clubs also expect you to arrange your visit first. A Green-Key pass does that step for you before you travel.
A €20 digital membership pass that is pre-confirmed with our partner clubs across mainland Spain and the Canary Islands. You buy it online, it works instantly on your phone, and you arrive knowing you are expected rather than hoping to be let in.
Private consumption inside a registered members’ association is tolerated and decriminalised. Buying, selling or using cannabis in public is not, and can bring a fine. Our Spain cannabis law guide explains what that means for tourists and for residents.
Valid photo ID, such as a passport or national ID card. The legal minimum age is 18, and some clubs set it higher, so check the club’s own page. Rules differ between clubs: many are cash-only, and most do not allow photos inside.
